Geldof and Ultravox singer Midge Ure created Band Aid, a supergroup of 40 artists, in 1984 and with the hit single raised over 10 million pounds for famine relief in Ethiopia. Geldof, who traveled to Ethiopia earlier this month as part of the British-sponsored Commission for Africa, became the public face of Band Aid and the subsequent Live Aid concert which raised over 100 million dollars. David Gilmour/David Bowie, Arnold Lane: A fitting tribute EP to the man who Gilmour replaced in the Pink Floyd lineup in the wake of his passing. Over the years, Gilmour made sure that Barrett was well taken care of throughout the rest of his life. These recordings come from Gilmour's concert appearances in 2006 at London's Royal Albert Hall. Two versions of Pink Floyd's first single Arnold Layne are presented, one featuring vocals by David Bowie and the other by Floyd's own Richard Wright.
